Overflowing Hearts ~

What comes out of your mouth is what fills your heart.

Overflowing with selfishness?

Overflowing with anxiousness?

Overflowing with love?

What is your heart filled so full with that it is overflowing into every aspect of your life?

I’m so thankful that God uses people in my life to teach me what He wants me to learn. Through my dearly loved boyfriend’s words of encouragement, God has shown me to never dwell on the bad. There is too much good in my life. If you focus on what you do not have, you will never be thankful for what you DO have. And I can prove to you that you have more than you actually realize. It took me a while to learn but after I did, I have never been so thankful and grateful for everything, good or bad, that I go through day in and day out. Everything truly does happen for a reason. And the way we react and handle these blessings (or blessings in disguise) shows a lot about what is in our hearts.

Jesus says, in chapter ten of John, “I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.”

Take a moment and step back. Jump out of your own shoes and take a look into your own personal life. Think of your family, your job, your friends, your school.

Sure, your family isn’t the ideal Brady Bunch family and your spouse isn’t Mr. perfect, but you and I, we are BLESSED.

In fact, we are overflowing with blessings!

John 1:16 “For we have all received from his fullness one gracious gift after another.”

Do you have a home? Running water? Food?

Clothing? People who you can call family?

Do you have the ability to speak? Breathe? Walk?

It is GOD who has blessed you with everything you have! He has not forgotten you!

“All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or the slightest hint of change.”
-James 1:17

–We should be overflowing with love, gratitude, thanksgiving, compassion and joy!–

We LOVE because HE first loved us! [1 John 4:19]

We are GRATEFUL because we are alive! [Psalm 139:13 Certainly you made my mind and heart; you wove me together in my mother’s womb.] We have a purpose in this life! [Jeremiah 29:11]

We are THANKFUL because Christ took on our sin and died the death we deserved because of our sin. After conquering death, He lives so that we shall eternally live with Him! If that doesn’t make you thankful, nothing will!
[John 3:36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him.]

We have COMPASSION because if you are a believer of Christ, His Spirit within you is kind and loving. [Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”]
We recognize we are all sinners [Romans 3:23] and no one is better than the other because we are all made in the image of God, our Creator. [Genesis 1:27 God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.]

We are full of JOY because we are eternally alive and taken care of! Our Father in Heaven loves us and has us in His hand. [Romans 8:31,32 What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things?]

God is patiently waiting for you to surrender your cares and your hurt to Him. We have so much to be thankful for. Praise Him for all His many blessings!

Let Him empty your life of brokenness and hurt and fill your heart with overflowing love, gratitude, thanksgiving, compassion, and joy!

“…asking God to FILL YOU with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may live worthily of the Lord and please him in all respects – bearing fruit in every good deed, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display of all patience and steadfastness, joyfully giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.”
Colossians 1:9-12
