Holiday season is among us. (Yay for Christmas shopping & homes filled with the aroma of cinnamon and gingerbread!)
In our home, we love cinnamon and sugar which is why I decided to make Homemade Candied Nuts! In this case, I used pecan halves but, you can use any kind of nut that you would enjoy smothering in sugary goodness!
The best part about this yummy holiday snack is that it is so easy to make! It took me ten minutes to whip up! Now enough chit-chat, let’s get down to business… (I have added some pictures at the end if you want to make sure you are doing everything right!)
1 large egg white
1/4 cup sugar
1 TBS cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 cups of nuts (you can mix n match)
How it’s made:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line baking sheet and set aside for later. (Don’t forget to line your baking sheet–stickiness!)
In a small bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk egg white and 1/2 Tbs water together until frothy.
Next, pour the sugar mixture and nuts into the egg mixture and stir together until evenly coated.
Layer the sugary almonds onto the baking sheet evenly. Place in your oven and bake for 30 minutes! (Enjoy your kitchen smelling deliciously)
Pull them out of the oven, let them cool, & try not to eat them all in one sitting.. or.. you can! 😉
These candied nuts will be a great little gift to get someone in the holiday spirit or to fill your tummy on these chilly fall nights that are ahead of us.
