My first ever VLOG!

closetconfidential (1)

Hey y’all! So today I’m linking up with Kiki from In its Time & Jenna from Dearest Love for a closet confidential link up for the month of August {better late than never!} & also sharing a few of my favorites from my closet with Oh Hey Friday! and I have to say that I am totally going out of my comfort zone here because I am super awkward when it comes to video but I have always wanted to do a VLOG so here it goes!

Before you watch, please note the cutest dog ears that will appear at the beginning. Haha! My pup, Penny, loves being around me and had to get in on this vlogging stuff. Also, this video has no editing so please don’t mind the guest bed looking like a mess & how you can only see half of my face for half of the video. Oops. Learning! Next, I’m super awkward and a little southern so bare with me if you can’t understand what I’m saying, haha! Lastly, I hope you enjoyed this humorously awkward video {I’m laughing with you} of all the fun things in my closet! Go check out Jenna & Kiki’s blogs after you watch! Enjoy!! xoxo Sorry, I ramble a bit…. ; )

What are some faves from your closet?  Five of mine are my maxis, that denim shirt, my new white dress, my cozy sweaters that I can’t wait to wear this fall, & my new coral dress from my husband! I would love to hear yours!

You are loved!

Wifey Wear Wednesday // Summer to Fall

Hey Y’all! So glad you stopped by! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite summer to fall transitions. This will be my last Wifey Wear Wednesday post! I have a pretty major respect for those fashion bloggers out there now that I have been doing this. {kudos to you, girl!} Without my own personal photographer {hubby works during the day}, it is such a time-consuming hobby. It takes me longer to take pictures & post them then it does to write out a normal blog post, haha! I also feel God leading me to continue to use this blog solely as an outreach tool & a place to share my life. While fashion is something that I love & I have a heart for modestly wearing the latest trends, I simply do not have the time & resources to post photos weekly. Bummer! But on the bright side of things, I accepted a job in which I will start next week and I’m sure you don’t want to see my outfits of running shorts and coffee stained t-shirts which is what I will be rocking every morning. Of course, there will be an outfit or two every couple of months so don’t totally check out! With that said, let’s jump right in!

Share with me some of your favorite fall transitions! I am dying to see! And remember… A truly beautiful woman is one who loves & serves God  lives a life for her Savior, who serves others, & who trusts in God.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Wifey Wear Wednesday – Fall Y’all

I can feel the sweet transition from summer into fall in the early morning breezes. Fall is my favorite season of the year and I am welcoming it with open arms, let me tell ya. I’m ready to get my pumpkin on. Pumpkin pies, pumpkin carving, pumpkin pickin’, & pumpkin spice frappes, of course! I’m also ready for bonfires, leaves changing, and pulling out my favorite pair of boots! I can taste that Pumpkin Spice latte now… mmm!

The great thing about fall is, you don’t have to run to the store and buy a new wardrobe with every end of summer. With only three simple transition pieces, you can keep your summer clothes in your wardrobe for the entire season! Check out my three must-haves when transitioning from summer to fall! Enjoy!

Wifey Wear Wednesday // Weekending

Friends! I love that you are here visiting Hot Tea and the Empty Seat. It means so much!

I hope that you are having a delightful week so far! I want to share with you all what I wore this weekend. It was a special occasion to kick off the weekend… our One Year anniversary photo session! I absolutely love being friends with a fellow photographer. A couple of months ago, I shot her and her husband’s Four Year anniversary pictures downtown and it was such a blast. In return, she shot photos of my husband and I for our anniversary. After the sessions, we always have a blast hanging together. How fun! Friday and Saturday, we traveled to visit our families. I have been on a country music kick for some reason {I blame FGL’s new hit} so I decided to try a fun outfit and rock my overalls.  I hope you can snag a few fun ideas from my recent outfits!

IMG_41451My husband picked out this perfect dress for me a little boutique in a Georgia mall called Edge by KS. The store was full of $20-$30 good quality dresses. I was so excited to buy this one specially for our anniversary pictures. It’s coral, white, and navy blue. The perfect color combo.

IMG_4148I paired it with my 90 inch long pearls bought at premier jewelry. The thin wait belt was bought with the dress. The fit was perfect!

IMG_4136I wore my most favorite wedges. I am a total wedge fan. I would choose them over high heels or flats any day. They are comfy, easy to walk in, & in my opinion, never go out of style. These coral wedges are from Agaci.

IMG_41891A couple of months ago, I was in the business for a pair of overalls shorts. I used to own a pair when I was younger and thankfully they are in style again so you can find them at almost any store in the mall. I actually found these at Aeropostale. I found a couple of pairs at other stores but those were either too short or too bedazzled. These were a good length and fit like a glove. I don’t wear these every week but they are fun to wear to picnics or family gatherings. I paired it with a neon pink tank top that I actually bought for $4 in the kids section at Wal-Mart {no shame in my game}. The necklace you have seen before because it is my all-time fave from Forever21. And lastly, my glasses are Vera Bradley and I have had them for years.  If you are looking, I would absolutely recommend them. They are dark brown and have a teal and brown design on the sides. I have dropped them, sat on them, worn them in the ocean, and almost anything else and they haven’t scratched once or broken. And it has been years. Love that!

I hope you have enjoyed a few of my recent outfits! Now I have to ask. Would you ever considering wearing overalls?! I would love to know. You either love ’em or you hate ’em. I am a fan 🙂 Blessings, friends! See you tomorrow with the review of Romans 11! If you haven’t read the review of 10 yet, check it out here!

Wifey Wear Wednesday // BEACH

I’m not gonna lie, I just remembered that today was Wednesday! My brain is still on island time, friends. My husband and I arrived back at home late last night after an amazing 5 day stay on Hilton Head Island.

Since I am in a tshirt & running shorts about to head to our youth group night, I want to share a few of my favorite beach themed clothing items! Enjoy!

What are a few of your favorite summer items? I would wear that Lily Pulitzer hoodie every day, all year-round!

Wifey Wear Wednesday// The BMD

So glad you are back, lovely! It’s Wednesday and that means…

Wifey Wear Wednesday!

If you’re new here, Wifey Wear Wednesday is a collection of weekly outfits from my closet that represent who I am in a fun, fashionable, & tasteful way. My hope is to encourage you to live out Romans 12:1…

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship.”

As a wife, I want to honor God, honor my husband, and honor my role as a faithful wife including how I dress! Even if you’re not a wife, you are still called to Romans 12:1 and what better way to publicly display this than how we dress!

They say every woman needs a little black dress, right? Well I am convinced that every woman actually needs a black maxi dress. Most “LBD”s are either too short or too revealing these days. Of course, you can find a good one because I have one or two that are a good length but I ADORE my black maxi. Every woman needs one in her closet. They’re versatile, super comfy, able to hide bloating, & can make you feel just as girly as those other little things! If black isn’t your color {I’m thinking of you, Mom}, you can totally swap a black for a dark brown {honestly any color works} and still rock it!

Here are a few of my favorite ways to wear my BMD… enjoy!

I hope you can take away a few ideas of your own, girl! What do you love pairing with your black maxi? Let me know in the comments below! And if you don’t have one yet, do I have you sold?? Blessings!
